Vintage brand info: Betty Barclay is a German women's fashion brand known for sophisticated, feminine, and contemporary clothing that blends modern trends with classic designs. The brand was established in the 1950s and its collections and licensed products, which include clothing, accessories, footwear, eyewear, and fragrances, are distributed internationally. The Betty Barclay Group also includes other sub-brands like Vera Mont (occasion wear) and Gil Bret (sporty outerwear).

Betty Barclay was not an actual person, but was just a name made up for this mid-priced line of ready-to-wear dresses. The company was owned by the Jonathan Logan company, one of the largest clothing manufacturers in the USA. In 1955 German textile maker Max Berk acquired the German license to make Betty Barclay dresses for the European market. In 1972 the company was bought by the German branch, and it is still in operation today.https://vintagefashionguild.org/resources/item/label/betty-barclay/
