Vintage Bolton Bros Sky Blue Trench coat with attachable hoody, size M

The trench-coat has a slightly structured, single-breasted A-line shape and the specific shade of "cornflower" or "French" blue were hallmarks of the late 60s Mod aesthetic and early 70s transitional fashion.

It is fully fleece lined, so ideal for colder days as well!

The use of Scotchgard—a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish developed by 3M—confirms its purpose as a functional "all-weather" coat. During the 1960s and 70s, this treatment was a major selling point for trench coats, allowing the fabric to repel water and stains while maintaining a soft, non-plastic feel.

The mannequin in these pictures id size S, so this trench-coat will best fit Size S or M.

Vintage brand info: Bolton Bros (often appearing as Bolton Brothers) was a well-regarded British garment manufacturer that specialized in rainwear and "all-weather" coats during the mid-20th century. Based in the traditional textile heartlands of Lancashire and Greater Manchester, they were part of a booming post-war industry that turned functional military-style trench coats into everyday civilian staples. By partnering with 3M to use Scotchgard technology, they became a go-to brand for families looking for coats that could survive the unpredictable British weather without the weight of traditional heavy wool.

Unlike luxury labels like Burberry, Bolton Bros catered to the prosperous middle class of the 1960s and 70s. Their garments were sold in high-end department stores and specialized outfitters across the UK, positioned as a reliable, high-quality alternative to more expensive brands.
