Damart is a historic French apparel brand founded in 1953 by three brothers, Jules, Joseph, and Paul Despature, in Roubaix, France. The company revolutionized the clothing industry by developing and patenting Thermolactyl, one of the world's very first unique, manmade, and super-thin insulated knit fabrics designed to retain maximum body heat while remaining breathable.

In the 1970s, the brand shot to massive fame across Europe due to its iconic French advertising slogan, "Froid, moi? Jamais!" ("Cold, me? Never!"). To prove the fabric's high performance, Damart famously kitted out mountaineers Doug Scott and Doug Haston during their successful Everest summit expedition in 1974, and later supplied explorers trekking the North Pole in -60°C temperatures.

The specialized thermal innerwear even made a literary appearance in the 1983 James Bond novel, Icebreaker
