Vintage brand info: Jacques Vert began with two tailors, Jack Cynamon and Alan Green, from the East End of London. They started making clothes together in 1972. In 1977, they launched the “Jacques Vert” brand — using their names, slightly “Frenchified” for a more fashion‑oriented appeal. Starting as a single brand, the company expanded significantly. In December 2002, Jacques Vert acquired William Baird PLC, which added more womenswear labels — notably Planet, Precis (and its petite line), and Windsmoor.
