The vintage Poppy brand (most famously known as Poppy Children or Poppy of Yarm) holds a highly nostalgic and cherished place in British fashion history. The brand was founded in North Yorkshire by designer Bryony Richardson. It originally started as a cottage industry, with Richardson designing clothes at her kitchen table. The name "Poppy" was inspired by her daughter.

Like vintage St Michael, Poppy represents an era of excellent, localized British garment manufacturing. The clothes were built to last, which is why the knit on your jacket remains so tight and the red dye is still incredibly vivid decades later.
